The Summit to Sand Stroll. - Matheson Lake Beach
You can walk from the mountaintop B&B to the beach. Matheson Lake trails border the property on two sides. On the trail map below, the B&B is the blue dot, and the yellow smaller trails lead to the well established green trails. The yellow circle is a parking lot which leads to a sandy beach. It's about a kilometer walk to the lake. The path around the lake is 4 kilometers. It's recommended to save an upcoming map to not make a wrong turn to a longer path. I highlighted two paths to the beach below in black. You can also just drive to the parking lot and walk from there.
Besides hanging out on the sandy beach, a popular pastime is to swim to Gillespie island or take a floatation device or small boat and paddle there.
You can also fish for rainbow trout along the lake trail.
Public restrooms are available by the beach.

Remember "Rock - Right", to make it easy to find your way back and forth on the trail above. When you see a big rock, turn towards it and pass it, and then turn right. This applies both for going down to the lake and coming back up.

Sitting Lady Falls Waterfall, Witty's lagoon trail
A nearby larger waterfall.
Witty's Lagoon Beach
One of the closest nicest beaches. Taylor Beach (green dot) is a bit closer, quieter and also quite nice.
Esquimalt Lagoon Beach and Bird Sanctuary
One of the most popular beaches in the area, with lots of parking space right beside the beach, and public restrooms. Great to come for the convenience of access and when planning a longer stay on the beach. There are usually many beach wood art sculptures. Many people also watch the fireworks from here on Canada day.
Whiffen Spit
A very nice walk out into the ocean
Biking on the Galloping Goose
This 55 kilometer dedicated trail for biking and walking passes within 350 meters of the B&B and goes to downtown Victoria. It continues west past Sooke and then north to the Sooke potholes and keeps going.
Google estimates that you will be riding at roughly 16 kph, so if you travel faster than that, such as an ebike going at 32 kph, you can get the estimated times down.
